Since the 21st century, China's aviation and space industry has developed vigorously. Manned spaceflight has become an important project and has achieved remarkable achievements, and civil aviation has become an important branch of the field of transportation and plays a pivotal role in life.
Because the high-altitude environment is different from the ground environment, the environmental conditions such as pressure, wind speed, gravity and temperature are more complicated. Once the fire occurs, it is more difficult to control and extinguish the fire, and it will cause more serious property safety losses when the fire is out of control.

In order to promote the sustained and stable development of the aerospace industry and ensure the safety of people's lives and property, the State Key Laboratory of Fire Science of the University of Science and Technology of China has carried out experimental research on fire prevention and control in high-altitude environment.





The project aims to study the dynamic evolution mechanism of fire breeding, occurrence and development of aerospace spacecraft and the induction mechanism of secondary disasters, and further develop and test airworthy instruments and equipment to develop corresponding key technologies for fire prevention and control.

In order to obtain quasi-stable experimental data, scientific research equipment with excellent performance is essential. The experiment needs to simulate the high-altitude environment with complex conditions, but the equipment sold in the market can simulate the environment is more conventional and single, which can not meet the special needs of the experiment.

After continuous efforts, Point Stone Instrument successfully developed a space environment simulation device (aviation energetic material test platform) for the State Key Laboratory of Fire Science of the University of Science and Technology of China.

The space environment simulation device (aviation energetic material test platform) is equipped with power cabinet, experiment chamber, vacuum system, control system, etc., with multiple functions of space environment simulation and data acquisition, and can be combined to simulate different pressure, temperature and wind speed; Through the configuration of combustion product composition analysis and high-speed photography, the experimental results were analyzed to obtain the corresponding data. It is suitable for comprehensive performance testing of typical aviation materials, including ignition mechanism, combustion characteristics, failure mode, risk assessment, thermal runaway of lithium batteries, fire extinguishing technology, synthesis of new materials, etc.

The development and use of the space environment simulation device (aviation energy materials test platform) not only solved the pain points of conventional equipment, such as single function, high procurement cost, and wide floor area, but also improved the experimental efficiency, and effectively contributed to the successful landing of the project of the State Key Laboratory of Fire Science of the University of Science and Technology of China.
